He is survived by: his children, April Boyl (David) of Clarkston, MI and Jerry Virgil Gilbert, III of Akron, MI; his daughter-in-law Aliceia Gilbert of Fostoria, MI; his mother Joyce Henderson Gilbert of Fernandina Beach, FL; his siblings, Pam Brown (Doug) of Pontiac, MI, Cindy Lindsey of Fernandina Beach, Deborah Leavitt of Fernandina Beach, Heidi Colson (John) of Franklin, NC, Ben Gilbert (Olga) of Fernandina Beach and Bert Gilbert of Ohio; his grandchildren, Jason Cooper (Taylor), Jerry Virgil Gilbert, IV, Steven Gilbert, Jordan Brown, William Gilbert, Bradley Short, Kayanna Short and Arealya Gilbert; his close friend Willie Williams of Blackshear; and his pets, Snoop and Sissy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
