With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vivian Hamelin of Blackshear, Georgia, who passed away on October 14, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Thomas and Martha Patrick Thomas Sykes; her husband Duane Saul Hamelin; her granddaughters, Nina Nicole Hamelin and Faith Dawn Hamelin; and her siblings, Ollie Thomas, Stephen Grant, James Sykes, Sylvia Van Slyke and Dorothy Sykes.
She is survived by: her children, David Hamelin (Karen) of Blackshear, Duane Hamelin II of Blackshear, Roger Hamelin (Rebekah) of Blackshear, Dawn Martin of Blackshear, Patricia Jones of Sevierville and Delaine Marcy of Marathon; and her niece Tammy Varnum of Liverpool. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home and Crematory (130 Screven Ave, Waycross, GA 31501).
