It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donn Eugene Smith (Blairsville, Georgia), who passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelbert Smith and Ethyl Smith; his former wives, Martha Whitney and Phyllis Nagel; his sister Norma Mae Puckle; his daughter Cheri Meaders; his grandchild Christian Meaders; and his great grandchildren, Gannon Eugene Mann and Addelyn Elise Mann.
He is survived by: his partner Exola Lynn Gates of Blairsville; his daughters, Jennifer Barbash (Doug) of Black Mountain and Nannette O'Neill (Scot Massey) of Blairsville; his grandchildren, Doctor Shane Heatley (Berea) of Blairsville, Troy Heatley of Black Mountain, Constance Brewer (Keith) of Blairsville, Keturah Mann (Russ) of Oglethorpe, Scott Meaders of Macon and Zach Meaders (Audrey) of Blue Ridge, Georgia; and his great grandchildren, Christian Meaders, Raelyn Meaders, Calvin Neumann, Cade Neumann, Byron Mumpower and Dillon Mumpower.
