He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Kindred and June Bernstein Kindred; and his siblings, Keith Kindred and Robin Heelan. He is survived by: his wife Kelli Christian Kindred of Blairsville; his daughter Megan; his son-in-law Jerry Reynolds of Jacksonville, Florida; his sons, Tyler (Brittany Messenger) and Sean Messenger of Blairsville; his sister Karen; his brother-in-law Mark Sweenie of Blairsville; his grandchildren, Maya, Jacob and Brodie; and his great grandchild Stetson Lee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation in Scott's memory.
