He was predeceased by : his father Harold Johnson Smith; and his sister Katherine E. Smith. He is survived by : his wife Janet Corley Smith; his children, Jonathan Smith, Jessica D. Smith and Stephen Smith; and his siblings, Mary Holmes, Judy Howard and Espy Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
