He is survived by: his sons, Russell Lee Scruggs, Travis Allen Scruggs and Charles Scruggs; his grandchildren, Ashlee Scruggs, Susie Squires Capers, Carson Eversole and Chase Eversole; his stepgrandchildren, Natalie Kelton and Steven Chancey; his great grandchild Lucas Capers; his brothers, Randy Scruggs and Mark Scruggs; and his former wife Sandra K. Smith Dowd.
