With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Edwards Clanton of Bloomingdale, Georgia, born in Savannah, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 16, 2025 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Marvin Edwards and Veta Bell Edwards; and her siblings, Bessie Corcelius, Lucille Backhaus, Mildred Bergman, Danny Edwards and Charles Edwards.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Clanton Collins (Michael) of Guyton and Angie Clanton Mingledorff (Mike) of Bloomingdale; her grandchildren, Kimberly Collins Morris (Ray) of Pooler, Kristopher Collins (Kasey) of Ludowici, Brittany Hall (Nick) of Clyo and Megan Barnwell (Travis) of Pembroke; her close friend Betty McManaway of Tennessee; her husband Emmett Simmie Clanton Jr.; and her stepfather Frank Perkins. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
