It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alice Sue Anderson Cody (Blue Ridge, Georgia), who passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Anderson and Berta Griggs Anderson; her siblings, Charles of Franklin, J. E., Gene Anderson, Jeanette Barker and Geneva Cody; and her husband Lester.
She is survived by: her daughters, Denise Fridl (John) of Asheville and Ashley Picardo (Ryan) of Ball Ground, Georgia.; her sister Carol Jones; her nephew Terry; her family, Terry Hembree, Timmy Hembree, Shawn Cody, Shane English, Kyle English and Matt Henson; and also Jeff Atkins. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close lifelong family friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel of McCaysville McCaysville Chapel (1478 Blue Ridge Dr, Blue Ridge, GA 30513). A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery (663 Damascus Rd, Blue Ridge, GA 30513). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at the Damascus Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Margrit "Pixie" Anslow, whose extraordinary care and friendship brought comfort and compassion during Alice's final months. Contributions can be directed to 10 Pinellas St., Hendersonville, NC 28791 in gratitude for the difference she made in their lives.
