He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Alexander DeRito and Theresa Asselta DeRito; his wife Anne Henderson DeRito of Blue Ridge; his children, Alex (Christy DeRito), Daniel (Catherine DeRito) and Stephanie DeRito of Jacksonville, FL; and his grandchildren, Ava, Ashlyn, Raleigh, Liberty and River DeRito.
