He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Lanier and Linda Lanier; his brothers, Henry and Horace Lanier; and his son Alan Lanier.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his siblings, Ted Lanier (Peggy) and Betty Lewis; and his children, Anne Flippen (Billy), Gail Hutchins (Peter) and Bob Lanier (LuGay). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 10 greatgrandchildren.
