He was predeceased by: his wife Thelma Jodoin Johnson; his son Henry Keith "Kit" Johnson, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Sheree Owens Johnson; and his parents, Albert Johnson and Lucy Johnson.

He is survived by: his grandsons, William Johnson of Hephzibah and Dakota "Cody" Johnson (Lakota Colson) of Boneville; his great grandchildren, Jacob Lee Johnson, Brantley Keith Johnson and Henry Michael Johnson; his siblings, Emily May of Boneville, Carol Goldman (Gerald) of Lincolnton, James Johnson (Esther) of Jefferson and David Johnson (Patricia) of Thomson; his grandson Cody Johnson; his nephew Jimmy May; and his friends, Jason Martin, Tyler Rodewolt and Aaron Tudor.
