He was predeceased by : his parents, Clifford Hand and Thelma Hand; his former life partner Jean Kelly Hand; his wife Erlene Clayton Hand; and his siblings, Donuah (Jerry Smith), Hertis Hand (Max), Barbara Hand (Carolyn Frost) and Jimmy Hand (Wilma Hand).

He is survived by : his son Wayne; his daughter-in-law Mindy Hand; his grandson Zeb Hand; his sister Linda (Billy Wayne Smith); and his sister-in-law Pat Hand Mize. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
