It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Short of Bowdon, Georgia, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Terry and Debbie Bazzell Short; his sister Linda; and his brother-in-law Wallace Harrison. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Rooks Short; his children, John Tiomi Short of Bowdon, Nona (Rick Holland), Georgia, Kim (Marc Smith), Kyle Short (Lynn Spratlin), Sam (Courtney Short) and Staci (Brian Rogers); his grandchildren, Nikki, Darrell Watkins, Alli, James Janney, Jake Smith, Shane, Samanth Smith, Trey Short, Jase Short, Rhett Short, Chase Rogers (Grace Driscoll), Cali Rogers and Frank Rogers; his stepgrandchildren, Zack, Peyton Smith and Hank Wardlaw; his great grandchildren, Tristan Watkins, Annistyn Watkins, Addyson Janney, Brooklyn Janney, Crew Smith and Bodhi Smith; and his siblings, Terry (Elaine Short), Tricia (H. L. Casey) and Judy (Erroll Shaw) of Tallassee, Alabama.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rainwater Funeral Home (317 N Carroll St, Bowdon, GA 30108).
