She was predeceased by: her husband George Payne; her parents, James Johnson and Velva Asher Johnson; and her siblings, Ernest Johnson, Pauline Bruner, Marie Cima, Jean Mace, Dora Phipps and Alice Roark.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Payne (Carol) of Carrollton, Tim Payne (Connie) of Maryville, Tennessee and Tina James (Stephen) of Carrollton, Georgia; and her siblings, Jack Johnson of Kentucky, James Johnson of Kentucky, Irene Watkins of Indiana, Rose Mullins of Georgia, Pam Warren of Kentucky and Sheila Hollingsworth of Georgia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren. and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rainwater Funeral Home (317 N Carroll St, Bowdon, GA 30108). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
