With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Susan Yvonne Gaines of Bowdon, Georgia, born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on June 8, 2020 at the age of 61. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Susan Yvonne Gaines to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her father Amos Lindsey Whitman; and her brother Steve Whitman. She is survived by : her husband Eddie Gaines; her daughters, Heather (Coatney South), Holly (Adam McWhorter) and Julia (Brian McLeod); and her mother Elizabeth Whitman of Carrollton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

“...and was survived by her niece, Kimberlee Vannessa Joyner, of Warner Robins, GA. Yvonne was adopted at a young age and Kim is the daughter of her biological sister. Yvonne was like a mother to Kim and Kim was like a daughter to Yvonne, in the 12 short years of them being reunited. Yvonne told Kim that there was nothing she could do that would make Yvonne not love her, and Kim will carry that with her the rest of her days. Thank you Yvonne for opening your home, love and arms to my sister.”
