She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Young and Emma Wilkins Young; her husband Larry Rumsey; her sons, Steve Swetmon and Dwight Swetmon; and her siblings, Maxine Mabry, Joyce Huggins, Bill Young, Sue Young, Sarah Kent and Clay Young.
She is survived by: her children, Tina Sosebee (Avery), Linda Hicks and Michael Rumsey (Joyce); her grandchildren, Mitchell Rumsey (Hailie), Crystal Weaver, Jennifer Smith (Josh), Michael Gray (Haley Thompson), Brittany Wilson, Billy Wilson and Dalton Rumsey; and her brother Gene Young (Glenda). She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia (355 Bear Creek Rd, Lavonia, GA 30553). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
