He was predeceased by: his parents, James Herbert and Cathryn Hart Smith; and his sisters, Judy Brannon and Linda Kay Smith. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Mae Staples Smith; his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Ryan Grigsby of Easley, SC; and his granddaughters, Reagan and Mallory Grigsby.
