He was predeceased by: his parents, James Samuel and Melzie Mae Hobbs Chastain. He is survived by: his son Charlie Chastain of Bowman; his siblings, David Chastain of Bowman, Lynn Stafford of Elberton, GA, Carolyn McGee of Bowman and Gail Alewine of Hull, GA; and his grandchildren, Josie Powell, Turner Chastain and Ellie Chastain. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
