He is survived by: his wife Opal McDaniel Hanson; his children, Shirley Butler (Tim) of Braselton, Donna Cornelison (Steve) of Flowery Branch, GA and Jimmy Hugh Hanson, Jr. (Suzanne) of Pendergrass, GA; his grandsons, Ricky Hanson, Jonathan Butler (Kaylie), Joshua Butler (Kayla) and Garrett Hanson; and his sisters-in-law, Edna Lorene Hanson of Lawrenceville, Sue McDaniel of Flowery Branch, Lynn McDaniel of Lula, GA, Mary Ann McDaniel of Flowery Branch, Kathy McDaniel of Hoschton, GA and Jean Harrison of Hoschton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A burial was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at the Broadlawn Memorial Gardens (5979 New Bethany Rd, Buford, GA 30518).
