He was predeceased by: his parents, Gail Atkinson and Dorothy Dudley Atkinson; and his sister Therese Benson. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn "June" Ferguson Atkinson of Bremen; his children, Jason, Paige Atkinson of Bremen, Joe, Melissa Atkinson of Temple, Gina and Craig Hall of Villa Rica; his siblings, Sharel Zelenka of Indianapolis, IN, Gaylene (Dick Smith), Rita (Bill Duncan), James (Penny Atkinson) and Cornel (Pam Atkinson); and his grandchildren, Hope Atkinson, Emma Atkinson, Rachel Atkinson, Ellie Atkinson, Amber Atkinson, Brooke Atkinson Smith, Jacob Smith and Leah Hall.
