He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Vess and Georgia Vess. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Miller Vess; and his daughters, Marci Beard (Will) of Fairhope, AL, Marta Boatwright of Felton and Melody Johnson (Chad) of Temple. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
