He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Fidel and Emma Hester Michael; his former wife Lois Marsh Michael; and his siblings, Fred Michael, Jimmy Michael, Paul Michael and Helen Ford.

He is survived by: his wife Deloris Yates Michael; and his children, Terry Pappas, Brenda Weaver, Gary Bagwell, Bill Heath, Sandra Heath Taylor, Kelly Michael Ross, Carol Files and Robert Michael. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
