He is survived by: his brother Emory "Zig"; his sister-in-law Iris Mathis of Hahira; his nephew Allen (Jennifer Mathis) of Danbury, Connecticut; and his nieces, Ivey Mathis of Brookfield, Jada Mathis of Hahira and Jewel Mathis of Hahira.
