Mae leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mae’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Johnson and Mary Johnson; and her husband Joseph Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Louise Alston (John Harrington) of Brooklet, Georgia, Dorothea Smith of Brooklet, Georgia, Lorraine Tremble (Danny Tremble) of Brooklet, Georgia and Dorothy Smith (Jamie Cone) of Brooklet, Georgia; her brother Brantley "Briscoe" Smith; and her sister-in-law Frances Walker Johnson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, church family, friends, and neighbors.
