Janelle Ewing Steele Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janelle Ewing Steele of Brooks, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 14, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Bowden and Gladys Wilson Bowden; her daughter Jan Ewing; her brothers, Mitch and Brad Bowden; and her grandsons, Jake Ewing and Ryan Ewing.
She is survived by: her husband James "Jim" Steele; her children, Jill Sirene Ewing, Joy Lea Ewing and James Felton Ewing (Judy); and her grandchildren, Ashley Allen (Ryan), Jessica Knight (Aaron), Kathryn Reeves (Nic) and Amber Barrett (Andre). She is also survived by her 7 great-grandchildren.
She served on the Board of Clayton County DFACS as the Vice President, The Georgia Alzheimer Association and numerous Committees for Women's Health and Job Training.
