He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Purvis and Ora Tucker Purvis; and his brother Carroll Wright Purvis. He is survived by: his children, Shanda Jowers (Johnny Wayne) of Broxton, GA, Kim Minter (Joey) of Ambrose, GA and Shaun Purvis of Valdosta, GA. He is also survived by several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, and One Nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sims Chapel (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533).
