With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Simmons Wetherington of Brunswick, Georgia, born in Brooks, Georgia, who passed away on February 22, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Simmons and William Simmons; her husband Virgil William Wetherington; and her siblings-in-law, Willie and Carolyn Wetherington.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pat Drew of St. Simons, Dr. Kim (Jim Megow), Shari Young of Brunswick and Sandra (Robert Simmons); her grandchildren, Evyn (Jeremy Greenberg), Ginger (Clint Joiner), Brooke Young of Atlanta, Dr. Lindsey (Tyler Trefz), Parker (Anna Megow), Zachary Mangelsdorf of Valdosta, Austin Mangelsdorf of North Carolina, Thomas Megow of Valdosta, Ransom Simmons of Tifton, William Megow of Valdosta and Artie Simmons of Tifton; her great grandchildren, Braden Drew, Cate Joiner, Will Joiner, Victoria Megow, Jonathan Megow, Ellie Beth Megow and Oliver Greenberg; and her siblings-in-law, Bobby and Brenda Wetherington of Hahira. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
