He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Auten and Gladys Auten of Cramerton; and his siblings, Frank Auten and Pat Pittman. He is survived by: his son Mark Christopher Auten; his wife Elaine Auten of Brunswick; his sons, Truett Dean Auten (Sherry Auten) and Lane Putman Auten (Nieves Prieto); his brother Steve Auten (Karen Auten); his grandsons, Jonathan Burnem (Angela Burnem), Dustin Burnem (Ly Burnem) and Amos Dean Auten; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey Burnem, Ryder Burnem, Estelle Burnem, Brianna Dooney and Madeline Dooney.
