He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert G. Payton and Bernia Payton; his daughter Patsy Ann Johnson; his brother John Payton; and his brother-in-law Butch Young.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Payton; his sisters, Sadie Estep (David) of Buchanan and Dodie Young of Buchanan; and his son-in-law Reverend Aaron Johnson (Martha). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Hightower Funeral Home (318 Gordon St, Bremen, GA 30110). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Payton Family Cemetery.
