He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Stapler and Willie Belle Butler Stapler; his children, Kristi, Amy Stapler and Lonnie Stapler; his granddaughter Amy Aldridge; and his siblings, Ann Smith, Reba Farmer, Claire Poor, Marie Carroll, Linda Fay Rider, Johnny Stapler, Jimmy Stapler and Donald Stapler.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Ann Carroll Stapler; and his daughters, Stasia (Keith Addison), Jill (Billy Aldridge), Talisa (Barry Gibbs) and Wendy (Keith Harper). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
