He was predeceased by: his parents, William John and Arlene Ziegler Hayes; his former wife Martha Ann Webster Hayes; and his son William Hayes, II (Sandra). He is survived by: his wife Sandra Shover Hayes; his sons, Joseph Hayes (Anne) and David Hayes (late Bonnie); his sister Barbara Bauer (Ray); his grandchildren, Megan Hayes (Daniel Burton), Erin Hayes, William Hayes, III and Julie Hayes; and his great grandchildren, Wynonna Burton-Hayes and Ashlyn Brielle Kerlin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
