She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur "Shim" Powell and Nannie Mae Wells Powell; her husband Charles B. Austin, Jr.; her sister Thelma; her brother-in-law Don Bunch; and her sister Fannie Benford.
She is survived by: her son Charles Michael Austin of Buena Vista; her siblings, Arthur Powell of Buena Vista and Darlene Powell Allen of Geneva; and her brother-in-law Tony Benford of Buena Vista. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
