It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice Deaton Grizzle of Buford, Georgia, born in Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Grizzle, Jr.; her parents, Minor Harrison Deaton and Zeffa Williams Deaton of Shelby, NC.; and her aunts and uncles, Faye, Vollie Morgan, Belle and Silvy Cross.

She is survived by: her sons, John F. Grizzle III and Joseph W. Grizzle (Joe); and her grandson George C. Grizzle.

Due to health concerns and the status of the COVID-19 virus, a private family graveside service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 3784 Friendship Cir, Buford, GA 30519 on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 1:00pm with Dale Jones and Rev. Jerry Bennett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Angel Heart Hospice (http://www.angelhearthospice.com), Dementia Society of America (http://www.dementiasociety.org) or American Cancer Society (http://www.cancer.org).
