He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Matuszak and Florence Matuszak; his former wife Mel; and his daughter Jill Swain. He is survived by: his siblings, Ed Matuszak (Karen) and Judy Lindberg (Steve); and his daughter Joelyn Shea (Jim). He is also survived by five grandchildren.

“I just now learned of Don passing and I am so very sorry. I met Don while a first year architecture student at KSU and lived down the hall from Don and Bob Boozer, his room mate and friend. Don always greeted me with that big smile, despite my neophyte status. I was astonished to see him play basketball and help lead that incredible team to a number 1 ranking in 1958-59. God be with him and his family.”
