He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Cogan and Pearl Neer Cogan; and his sister Gerry Eiseman (Howard). He is survived by: his wife Alice Cogan; his children, Leslie Perlman (Andy), Adam Cogan (Kristen) and Marni Young (Michael); and his grandchildren, Kelsie, Kayla Young, Justin and Jordan Perlman.
During the COVID pandemic, he quietly purchased lunches for entire hospital floors to show appreciation for healthcare workers.
