She was predeceased by: her parents, Dock Mathis and Lettie Heard Nichols Mathis; and her siblings, Florence Glaze, Olene Williams, Sarah Raper, C. J. Mathis, L. Gershon Mathis and Dallas Mathis.
She is survived by: her son Mark Thrasher (Tammy) of Buford; her grandchildren, Demetria Thrasher, Mark Thrasher, Jr. (Bebe), Victory Thrasher and Madison Jackson; her great grandchild Elizabeth Thrasher; and her brother D. R. Mathis (Elizabeth) of Cumming. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A burial was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at the Broadlawn Memorial Gardens (5979 New Bethany Rd, Buford, GA 30518).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buford Senior Citizen Center in memory of Martha Ree Mathis Thrasher.
