With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mildred Forrester Smith of Buford, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Douglas Smith; her parents, Fred Forrester and Ella Forrester; her siblings, Delbert Forrester, Howard Forrester, Ruby Young, Blonnie Patterson, Ruth Orr and Lillian Boring; and her granddaughter Candy Brown.
She is survived by: her son Gregory P. Smith; her daughter-in-law Linda Sullivan Smith; and her grandchildren, Scott G. Smith (Charlotte), Philip P. Smith (Rebecca) and Ashley R. Watson (Steven). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A burial was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at the Broadlawn Memorial Gardens (5979 New Bethany Rd, Buford, GA 30518).
