He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Jefferson Phillips and Clara Simmons Phillips of Buford, GA.; his wife Edith Phillips; and his son Mark "Peanut" Phillips. He is survived by: his sons, Robert "Bobby" Phillips (Peggy) and Dale Phillips (Edie); his siblings, Jerry Phillips and Nancy Phillips Pendley; his sisters-in-law, Betty Henry Phillips of Pendergrass, GA and Barbara Phillips of Buford; Bob. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at the Broadlawn Memorial Gardens (5979 New Bethany Rd, Buford, GA 30518).

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Duncan Creek Church in Buford, GA, the Shrine Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis, Tn.
