It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Smith of Buford, Georgia, born in Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Linda Murray of Buford; his children, Andrea McCormick, Bunita Smith and Tavares Mackey; his siblings, Wilhemeina Smith, Marcus Smith (Kim), Ronnie Smith, Roderick Smith (Mary Helen) and Calvin Smith (Veronica); his parents-in-law, Walter and Maebelle Murray; and his siblings-in-law, Deborah Murray and Dennis Murray (Linda). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
