He was predeceased by: his parents, L. C. Armistead and Shirley Mundy Armistead; and his brother Len Armistead. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Jarvis Armistead; his sons, Caleb Holland Armistead of Paducah, KY and Timothy Lynn Armistead of Paducah; his brother-in-law Samuel Jarvis (Gina) of Cumming, GA; his niece Krista McDaniel (Mike); his nephews, Jacob McNeese, Jared Jarvis (Elon), Matthew McNeese and Jonathan Jarvis; and his aunt Maxine Dearmon.

In lieu of flowers, a donation would help the family with funeral expenses in memory of Russell Wade Armistead.
