He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kovacs and Barbara Stachewicz Kovacs; and his brother Michael Kovacs. He is survived by: his wife Diane Smith of Buford; his daughters, Corinne Freel (Andrew) of Monroe and Caitlin Kovacs of Lilburn; his stepdaughters, Kristen Bagwell (Jonathon) of Winder and Lindsey Glaze (Eric) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Dawson, Dallas, Denver, Caden, Preston and Parker; his sisters, Susan Northrup (Glenn) of Hartwell, Deborah Wise (Rand) of Decatur and Kimberly Kovacs of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and his nephews, Tim, Adam, Christopher and Ben.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Ginn Funeral Home (90 Church St, Carnesville, GA 30521). A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in honor of Steven to the Republican National Committee (https://rnc.org) or The University of Georgia.
