We announce the death of Thomas Emory Dobbs of Buford, Georgia, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 93. Thomas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Thomas will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Thomas’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Locklear Dobbs; his parents, Pleasant Emory and Gussie Dobbs; and his sisters, Dorothy Cocchi and Jimmie Avery.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Britt Dobbs (Tammy) of Fairburn and Tracy Lynn Gilmore (Tracy) of Buford, Georgia; his siblings, Betty Cocchi of Douglasville, Georgia and Preston Dobbs of Snellville, Georgia.; and his grandchildren, Hailey, Kaitlyn Dobbs of Fairburn and Austin Calhoun of Buford. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Flanigan Funeral Home (4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Melwood Cemetery (5170 E Ponce de Leon Ave, Stone Mountain, GA 30083).
