We are sad to announce that on June 20, 2025, at the age of 87, Jerry Eugene Ethridge Sr. of Butler, Georgia, born in Huntsville, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jerry Eugene departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jerry Eugene may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jerry Eugene leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Ethridge and Johnnie Moore; his siblings, Elizabeth Ethridge, Buddy Ethridge and Frank Ethridge; and his grandson Josh Ethridge.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Lynch Ethridge; and his sons, Jerry E. Ethridge, Jr., Richard L. Ethridge (Marine), James W. Ethridge (Laurie) and Brian K. Ethridge. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Crossroads Worship Center Church of God (365 US-441, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (400 Rees St, Americus, GA 31709).
