He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry T. Anthony and Susan Ella Anthony; his daughter Martha Sue Anthony; and his siblings, Billy, Robert, Edgar, Gene Anthony, Eloise Anthony, Gladys Harper and Joyce Petty.
He is survived by: his wife Laverne Byrd Anthony of Butler; his son Gary Anthony (Darlene) of Molena; his stepchildren, Bobbie Whitmer of Thomaston, Terrie Reid (Robert) of Butler, Cindy Hismith (Richard) of Reynolds and Rickey Allen (Miriam) of Thomaston; his granddaughters, Elise Anthony and Chasity Anthony Bryant; and his stepgrandchildren, Charles Whitmer, Scott Whitmer, Aimee Whitmer, Tonya Weaver, Dustin Robinson, Karen Murphy, Robbie Reid, Johnathon Allen, Brooks Holloway and Jennifer Hutchinson. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Turners Chapel (911 Roberta Hwy, Butler, GA 31006). A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
