It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Jones of Byron, Georgia, born in Hamburg, Arkansas, who passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her children, John Edward Wells and Joyce Ann Thomas; her parents, Balam Jacob and Mary Jacob; her grandson Tyrick Cooper; and her siblings, Lonnie Earl, Willie Earl, Earnest, Leon, Bruin, George Lee, T. H. Jacob, L. V. Bradley, Irene Fisher, Maureen Carisdi, Bernice Robinson, Marie Cason and Hazel Scott.

She is survived by : her children, Harvey Jacob of Malvern, AR., Bobby Fountain (Emily) of Byron, GA. and Erma Bruce (Randy) of Columbus, GA.; and her sister Christy Lee Davis of Hamburg, AR.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church (404 W Long St, Hamburg, AR 71646).
