He was predeceased by: his daughter Allison Barrett Harkins of Byron; his parents, Ora Phipps Barrett and Ned James Barrett; and his sister Gloria Barrett Poole. He is survived by: his wife Janice Hudgens Barrett; his daughters, Donna Barrett Plumstead (John) of Lizella and Lori Barrett Curry (Lee) of McDonough; his grandchildren, Sean Plumstead (Ryan) of Macon, Ashley Plumstead Rahn (Micah) of Richmond Hill, Lacey Curry of Toccoa, Chelsea Curry Beal (Dalton) of Woodstock, Seth Harkins of Byron and Savannah Harkins of Byron; and his brothers, Roy Barrett (Mary Ann) of Dacula, Loy Barrett (Brenda) of Fayetteville and Jerry Barrett (Joyce) of Seminole. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Byron Baptist Church (100 W White Rd, Byron, GA 31008). A memorial service was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
