She was predeceased by : her parents, Melvin Maurice James and Mary Louise Andrews James; her former life partner Larre Craig Fox; her daughter Cynthia Yvonne Fox; her sister Alice Raye James; and her stepdaughter Sharon Spillers.

She is survived by : her husband Joe Pender Sr.; her sons, Tony Fox (Kathy) of Forsyth and Jason Fox (Tara) of Eatonton; her stepson Joseph Pender Jr. of Monroe; and her siblings, Wayne James (Veda) of Byron, Mary Fosse (Howard) of Story City, Helen Hancock (David) of Comer and Thirteen. She is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren and Five great grandchildren.
