It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Childress of Byron, Georgia, born in Salem, South Carolina, who passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Roy Childress and Mattie Malinda Heaton Childress; his wife Jo Ann Childress; his son William Alan Childress (Kozue); his granddaughters, Christina Marie Childress, Emily Michelle Childress and Rachael Childress Marrone (Will); his great grandchild Timothy Keith Childress; his grandchildren, Donna Nicole Childress, Elizabeth Laurie Rowland and Ashley Rebecca Rakes (Blake); his great grandchild Matthew Brian Childress; his daughter-in-law Medley Childress; his grandchildren-in-law, Riley Hawkins (Josh) and Noah Perry; his sisters, Edna Garrett, Lou Ella Palmer (Dean) and Ruth Smith; his son Timothy Keith Childress; his brothers, James H. Childress and Marvin D. Childress (Estelle); Jonathan Alexander Childress. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
