He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Carold Smith and Gertrude Beverly Smith; his son Michael Lance Smith; and his great grandchild Winnie Lou Hawkins. He is survived by: his wife Louise Smith of Cairo, GA; his daughter Michele Beach (Michael) of Tifton, GA; his daughter-in-law Karen Smith of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughters, Rebekah B. Hawkins (Nathan) of Jefferson, GA and Lindsey Phillips (Ryan) of Cairo, GA; his great grandchild Segar Cleveland Phillips; and his siblings, Charles Smith (Donna) of Valdosta, GA, Roger Smith (Charlene) of Tifton, GA and Janice Hale of Watkinsville, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
