He was predeceased by : his parents, Cecil S. Hanley and Gladys Ella Cole Hanley; and his siblings, Dillard, Roger, Henry Hanley and Geneva Lee.
He is survived by : his wife Opal Bishop Hanley of Cairo; and his children, Edward Leon Roach (Eddie) of Nevada, Danny Roach of Dallas, Tina Holt of Jackson, Georgia, Shane Hanley (Leigh Ann) of Sylacauga, Teresa Roberts (Mike) of Bainbridge and James W. Spearman, Jr. of Atlanta. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
